Happy New Year! I can't believe how quickly (or ever so painfully and slowly) 2020 passed us by. While 2020 felt unfair, frightening, and catastrophic, I want you to pause. Even in stillness, look at how far you've come. As a woman, as a Black woman at that, we are not afraid of the world throwing lemons at us, because we are more than capable of making lemonade.
January Word of the month is Ambition! This means - a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work. A new month, a new you. Setting intentions is not making a to do list. It's asking something of yourself and then giving yourself the strength to do it. Get clear on what you want your life to look like. Who will you be, what do you want to do, and what do you want to have? The track is not to tie any timelines to this - dream BIG. It may happen a month from now or 10 years from now. Let your imagination run wild.
"I am ambitious. I set goals; not because I am ungrateful for what I have, but because I am happy with who I am. I enjoy the experience of rising above my perceived limitations and discovering new levels of my capabilities." Dr. Steve Maraboli
When I think about goal setting, I like to categorize areas in my life that I wish to focus on. Six areas that are imperative to focus on are: Spiritual Health, Personal Life, Physical Health, Key Relationships, Money Management, and Professional Goals. These are areas that need clear and intentional goals in order to launch your successful ambitious life.
