Community Outreach Committee: Works collectively with the executive board to execute the mission of partnering with local organizations to provide support based on the organization’s needs. Organize and direct youth and adult volunteers that assist with community events and complete documentation for community service hours.

 

Chair & Co Chair Duties

1. Responsible for recruitment, selection and retention of committee members.

2. Creation and planning within guidelines of BMOS project charter to reach the target fundraising goal for the calendar year.

3. Present plan to the Executive Board for approval before executing the task.

4. Must commit to attending 80% of the meetings outlined by the Executive Board.

Events & Planning Committee: Works collectively with the executive board to execute the mission of creating meaningful and impactful events of interest to African-American women and their families. The primary focus will be on the planning and execution of events that (1) promote the connection of African-American women with others in their communities, (2) support the fundraising goals of the BMOS and (3) encourage and enhance brand engagement amongst attendees.

Fundraisers & Corporate Sponsorship Committee: Works collectively with the executive board to execute the mission of raising funds that will be utilized in the funding of various community outreach. Also, attaining corporate sponsorships that will assist in funding of scholarships and grants for families and students.

Grants & Scholarships Committee: Works collectively with the executive board to execute the mission of providing scholarships and grants to local community organizations approved by the board. Ensures funds spent don’t exceed annual budget. Assist with deciding where funds will be allocated quarterly and annually..

Health & Wellness Committee: Works collectively with the executive board to execute the mission of raising community awareness of critical health issues impacting African-American women and families. The primary focus will be on mental health, breast cancer awareness and prevention, nutrition and wellness and care for caregivers.
